Our speaker on Feb. 28 is Christina Britton Conroy, award-winning multi-faceted novelist/screenwriter/singer/actor/harpist and creative arts therapist. She will talk to us about her acclaimed series of four Victorian novels about the British theater His Majesty’s Theatre, comprised of Not from the Stars, But from Thine Eyes, Truth and Beauty, and Beauty’s Doom. These novels are filled with the history of the British theatre and allusions to Shakespeare.
Her nonfiction writing includes the Amazon best-seller, How to Have Fun with Your Aging Parents. She has toured the world singing operas, musicals and Celtic folk music.
ENTERTAINER: ALEX LEONARD Pianist/vocalist Alex Leonard has been featured in venues from Manhattan to Las Vegas, Europe and Japan. He has performed on stages such as Lincoln Center's Rose Hall, Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall, The Smith Center and Off-Broadway. All Music Guide calls him, “an important mainstay of the Big Apple” and the theater magazine Show Business writes, “superb piano playing... a class act”. Alex has been a featured guest on Bloomberg Radio’s The Business of Show Business, as well as host of The Golden Apple Cabaret Hour on WVOX 1460- AM in New York City.
